Today we had a shortened period due to late arrival. In class today we were assigned a group project that applies stoichiometry to the real world. In this project your group has just finished your quota for the month. However, your group needs to make ten more pennies due to supplier error. Alumifun Corporation sends your group aluminum and Cuprous Industries sends your group copper chloride. Your group needs 1.8 g of copper. Alumifun sends you 1.25 g of Al and Cuprous sends you 3 g of CuCl2. Your groups job is to find out which company sent you the wrong amount of their product and how much more of that chemical will you need. You are allowed to choose your group and groups can be no more than four people. Today we got our groups and we mixed the CuCl2 with water and added the Al after stirring. the groups then wrote down their observations and that was it. The homework pages were 31 and 32.
